The meeting is timed to commemorate the centenary of Kelvin’s death in December 1907.

10:45am: Raymond Flood (Oxford), The Ulster connection

11:30am: Andrew Holmes (Queen’s), The religious background; Irish Presbyterianism in the nineteenth century

12:15pm: Lunch

1:15pm: Francis Everett (Stanford), Kelvin and the Irish tradition in nineteenth century physics

2:00pm: Denis Weaire FRS (Trinity, Dublin), The Dublin connection

2:45pm: Sir Bernard Crosland FRS (Queen’s), Kelvin, James Thomson and engineering in Ireland

3:30pm: Iain Hutchison (Stirling), Kelvin and liberal Unionism

4:15pm: Discussion and close
